Who Are Street Youth?
 
 

 Community Development Team:

 

They will be responsible for implementing programs that gets the community involved in Invisible Youth Network projects and programs.

 

This can be accomplished at their schools or workplaces, for example.

 

Community Service Team:

 

Think about the number of homeless children walking the streets of San Diego, California. They are facing the elements of street life every day and night, in every way. They are alone, afraid and hungry.
 
To assist them we provide them with the following resources when available, and this is where you can help us help them by:
 
  1.  Contacting your local merchants
  2.  Hold drives throughout the year at your church, college, school or workplace to collect things that homeless kids need to survive street life day to day, for example:
     
 
  • Backpacks
  • Bedrolls
  • Drinks, pouches only
  • Feminine hygiene products
  • Gift Cards for fast food restaurants, in $5.00 denominations
  • Hand Wipes, antibacterial
  • Hooded Sweatshirts, (Medium & Large)
  • Knit Hats
  • Nonperishable food Items
  • Shorts, (Medium and Large)
  • Travel Size Hygiene Items
  • Sleeping Bags
  • Socks
  • T-shirts
  • Wallets to hold their identification
  • Water Bottles 
     

 

 

Event Planning Team:

 

The Event Planning Team will help plan the events and activities for the Invisible Youth Network to raise funds and resources for an estimated 4,000+ homeless youth walking the beaches, canyons, parks and streets of San Diego, California. 

 

Homeless Youth Exposition 2011 - project

 

The Invisible Youth Network is in the planning stages of putting together a Homeless Youth Exposition for mid 2011.

 

We are looking for volunteers to help us plan this out and help us put it together.

 

This event will be about homeless youth and for homeless youth.

Starting Your Own Chapter of the Invisible Youth Network

 

Have you ever thought of running your own nonprofit organization? This is a great opportunity to do so. The Invisible Youth Network is chartering individuals and or organizations who are interested in reaching-out and helping homeless youth within their communities.

Requirements for above volunteer opportunities:

 

  • Ability to plan and manage work with minimum direction, our volunteers work independently from their homes or offices;
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills;
  • Strong sense of personal integrity;
  • Sincere desire to help homeless and street kids. 

 

Street Outreach Team

 

Street Outreach Team walk the streets in teams, to find and help homeless and street kids. Team members provide food, clothing and hygiene products but most importantly must genuinely care about the kids and work patiently and consistently with those kids to help save their lives.

 

Team members befriend the kids while helping them work toward a life off the streets through connecting them to resources such as housing, employment, food and medical care. 

Special Requirements:

  • Background check;
  • Training required;
  • Strong sense of personal integrity;
  • Sincere desire to help homeless and street kids;
  • At least a three-month commitment to the organization
