Who Are Street Youth?
 
The Invisible Youth Network’s primary mission is to bring needed resources and services to an estimated 8,000 homeless youth between the ages of 9 and 21 walking the streets, beaches, parks, and canyons of San Diego County, California on any given day. More than half of these children are in the predator vulnerable 9-18 age group and are in need of our attention now.
 
We are looking for volunteers in the following areas:
 
Board of Advisor:
 

We are looking for members from the community for our new Board of Advisors, that will meet online and share with us their ideas on projects and programs related to homeless youth.


Board of Directors:
 

We are looking for members from the business and professional communities that will meet at least once every three months to insure that the Invisible Youth Network remains within it's objectives and mission statement.

Child Abuse Services:
 

The Invisible Youth Network is interested in getting actively involved in child abuse projects and programs.


Community Development:
 

Developing human, material and monetary resources from the business and professional communities for our homeless youth projects and programs, in this position you will be assigned to  your zip code area.

 
Community Organizers:
 

Developing community participation within the Invisible Youth Network and it's projects and programs, with emphasis on recruiting high school and college age youth, in this position you will be assigned to  your zip code area. 

 

Human Resources:

 

They will be responsible for processing new volunteer applications and assigning them to one of our many departments, projects or programs.

 

Intern Training:

 

They will be responsible for processing new intern applications and assigning them to one of our many departments, projects or programs.

 

Graphics - Project Manager: 

 

Creating IYN related fliers and posters.

 
Mentors & Peer Mentors:
 

This is an opportunity to mentor youth and their families through Online Mentoring, for example:

  • Email

  • Telephone

 

    Public Relations:  
    • IYN Newsletter
    • Marketing
    • Press Release
    • Public Information
    • Public Relations
    • Speaking Engagements 

     

    Street Outreach Team:
     

    They will work with homeless youth on a one to one basis.

    They will insure that the homeless street youth have all available resources.

      
    Youth Advocates:
     

    They will be assigned to one or more homeless youth to insure that their basic and legal needs are being met.
