Who Are Street Youth?

The primary mission of the Invisible youth Network is Raising Awareness Of Youth Homelessness, and we are working to educate the community about what they can do to help.

Although the number of homeless youth is difficult to count, it's growing. Last year the National Center on Family Homelessness estimated that 2% of American youth, or 1.5 million children, are homeless based on data from 2005-2006.

Between the years 2007-2010 these figures have increased significantly.

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and my organization.

I am the Founder & Chairman of the Invisible Youth Network, an expansive network founded on March 26, 2007 with the purpose of providing resources and support for homeless youth walking the streets of America’s cities.

We do this, every day, in cities across America. We carry out our mission through our chapter’s, partner organizations and volunteers who go to the streets in order to find, stabilize, and otherwise help homeless and at risk youth improve their lives.

Our focus goes beyond street outreach and extends to deterrence, research, resources, seminars, training and workshops that we provide to the communities and via the Internet.

Although our slogan is "Advocating for America's Youth," our endeavors are towards all homeless and at risk children no matter their geographical location.

Our volunteers at IYN are dedicating their lives and time to helping them get off the street, and away from the threat of becoming, one more death, one more rape, one more crime, one more suicide, one more desperate act that sends them to prison or their death.

Invisible Youth Network is an expansive network that provides resources and support for more than 1.5 million homeless youth walking the streets of our cities.

Our influence is felt every day in cities all across America. Our mission is carried out through both partner organizations and volunteers who take to the streets to find, stabilize and otherwise help homeless youth to improve their quality of life.

Our focus reaches past the streets and lends itself to deterrence, research, resources, seminars, training and workshops that are provided to the communities and via the Internet. Despite our motto Advocating for America's Youth, our endeavors are focused on all homeless youth with no regard to their geographic location. Mahatma Gandhi said, "You must be the change you wish to see in the world", and with that in mind, The Invisible Youth Network envisions better lives for children who cannot see it themselves.
